Job Title: Operations Assistant

Department: Day Reporting Center

Reports to: Program Director

SUMMARY

The Operations Assistant/Driver is responsible for the care and custody of all participants in the program and is responsible for all supervision function within the facility and on authorized outings in accordance with guidelines, and the provision of office security and support services. The Operations Assistant is responsible for ongoing support, follow-up and strict supervision according to program procedure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Providing for the safety and security of all Probation clients.
  • Coordinating and providing transportation of Probation clients.
  • Searching Probation clients and visitors as specified by Policy and Procedure.
  • Implementing the behavioral management system.
  • Keeping the other staff members informed of progress and all developments.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure that clients’ goals are met.
  • Maintaining Probation clients’ records according to program procedure and completing all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Understanding of each position’s responsibility.
  • Supervising recreational and community service activities.
  • Securing the front office, attending to Probation client sign in/out process.
  • Assisting in the preparation of documents, filing requirements, and other office duties.
  • All other duties as deemed necessary by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalency. Two years of experience in human services, correctional supervision or related field preferred. Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred. Some positions require bilingual abilities (English-Spanish).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to make decisions. Willingness to learn and apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapies.

Other Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and Qualifications

Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License, a driving record acceptable to PMI insurance carrier and have reliable transportation.
