## Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various technical fields and be comfortable working in diverse environments.
## Duties
Perform field walkout surveys and permitting information to provide new service to customers.
Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with business and industry specifications.
Follow guidelines to provide detailed route from existing plant to customer demark noting all construction types required along proposed route, as well as capturing permitting information. Obtain the correct field information, record verification, document all details for aerial and underground telecommunications including fiber, coax, poles, pedestals, and more.
Perform new build walkout or as-built mapping.
Follow guidelines to provide detailed accurate routes of existing or new build plant.
## Experience
2+ years of cable mapping experience within the CATV industry is required.
### Required Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of the fielding process with hands on experience in CATV as-built and new build walkouts.
Knowledge of cable design and basic OSP construction practices of cable systems.
Permitting experience in telecommunications such as: right of way (ROW), pole, railroad, and government agency permitting is preferred.
Able to read and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams associated with CATV projects.
Ability to accurately update As-Built field prints with equipment & information obtained from the field walkout.
Computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, & PDF Editor with the ability to learn new software and technologies.
Must be highly responsible and self-motivated.
Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills.
Able to work independently within minimal supervision.
Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner.
Demonstrate the ability to multi-task.
Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
Ability to meet project deadlines.
Able to clearly identify telephone, fiber, coax and power cables and types, differentiate between them and properly determine attachment height of all attachments.
Ability to identify HFC equipment and housings, both aerial and underground.

This is a full-time, production-based position. 1099
Must be willing to travel as needed.
Perform field walkout assignments daily over varying terrain and in all weather conditions.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Company necessary tools will be provided.
Hotel expenses covered when overnight travel is required.
Must pass drug test and background check.
