Overview
The Mill Machinist will utilize their CNC mill machining to produce quality products and continuously improve upon the efficiency of our milling operations by working closely with our Engineering department to research and implement a continuous improvement plan for milling objectives.
Responsibilities
- Setup and operate a Haas Vertical Mill.
- Determine appropriate cutting speeds and feed rates, matched with optimal tooling, to deliver the most efficient machining plan.
- Make control panel program edits as needed.
- Perform assigned duties and continuously meet or exceed industry standards for workmanship and company standards for efficiency.
- Use a variety of hand measuring tools, inspect work completed and document results, ensuring results meet engineering or customer requirements.
- Work through multiple setups and machining operations to deliver a finished product.
- Ensure proper tooling and programs are used, as well as make adjustments to the machine and tooling as required.
Requirements
- Must be able to work evenings with shift starting at 2:00 pm.
- Prefer 1-2 years max experience operating CNC mills.
- Competency with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and sample parts, for the purpose of developing a tooling and manufacturing plan to machine required part features.
- Experience operating Haas 4 axis mill preferred, but not required.
- Experience operating a Puma SMX is a plus.
- Must be able to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances.
