The Program Support Director (PSD) is a dynamic, strategic leader that directs efforts to help youth (age 14-24) develop the skills they need to prepare for and enter college and careers. He/she possess extraordinary vision and entrepreneurial acumen and the ability to strategically develop and manage complex and diverse programming in outreach, career advisement, business relations and workforce development to keep ACYR programs state of the art, unique, and research based. Responsible for building upon ACYR’s history of success and strong foundation for best practices in youth development, empowerment and community leadership and for maintaining our status as leaders in youth development locally and nationally. Key to the PSD success will be his/her ability to dynamically and successfully cultivate and build critical relationships necessary for program/organizational growth. Must be driven by a sense of compassion, respect, love and belief in the enormous potential of young people.
The Director of Youth Development Programs position is an essential leadership role at ACYR and will work in partnership with the Director of Education, Administration Team, and the CEO. The PSD must learn, stay abreast of, analyze, and navigate Department of Labor (WIOA legislation), data, education systems, and the intersection of education with workforce development strategies. The PSD is also responsible for informing, coordinating and educating the Leadership and Administrative teams on all of the DOL/WIOA legislation, requirements and developments.
