Job Description

Title: Food Runner/Expo
Supervisor: Director of Food & Beverage
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
General Summary: Responsible for prompt and correct delivery of food from kitchen to table, including expediting orders, and serving order to members and guests.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Facilitates dining outlets delivery of food by being the liaison between kitchen and front of house
  • Clearly organizes, double checks, and ensures complete order of food before delivering to tables or To-Go Orders
  • Completes essential side duties needed for service including silverware, To-Go silverware and containers, and proper stock of condiments
  • Separates orders by tickets and ensures tables and orders do not get mixed up
  • Checks for discrepancy in orders before serving
  • Keeps track of ticket times
  • Reports any issues or extreme wait times to MOD
  • Runs and serves food to tables
  • When no tickets are in the window, clears tables during and at the completion of meal service
  • Performs other job assigned by FOH management
  • Maintains the storeroom in a neat and organized manner stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary food service functions
  • Breaks down after the completion of service and ensures that all equipment and supplies are stored properly
  • Refreshes meeting rooms as needed
  • Assists servers in their set-up, service and clean-up tasks
  • Cleans dining room areas
  • Stocks servers’ station with supplies
  • Collects trash from dining area following the conclusion of the function
  • Keeps ice bins and buckets filled
  • Folds napkins
  • Cleans up spills, broken service ware and attends to similar problems during service with minimal disruption to Members
  • Polishes silver service items
  • Assists with buffet setup
  • Helps to maintain a fully stocked buffet
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the country club environment preferred
  • Ability to articulate thoughts and actively listen in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, members and guests
  • Ability to use empathy to understand members, guests and coworkers feelings or mood and responding in the appropriate tone and manner
  • Ability to demonstrate proactive hospitality by taking the initiative to approach members, guests and coworkers with a positive and upbeat attitude
  • Demonstrated track record of showing responsibility through taking ownership of issues and following through
Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Work in hot and humid environment
