Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Risk Financing &
Consulting (Risk Management) Department within the Compliance & Audit
Office is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Property &
Marine Insurance Risk Consultant.

Reporting to the Senior Risk
Manager, the person in this role will support the Risk Financing &
Consulting Department within the Compliance & Audit Office department's objective
to minimize and protect the potential financial and operational impact of
identified risks on the company while recommending and communicating mitigation
activities to various stakeholders and executives.

The primary responsibility of this
role is to collaborate with the business and assist the Senior Risk Manager in
overseeing and managing the Property & Marine Insurance Program for the
North American Region. Provide risk management consultation to our internal
stakeholders including but not limited to contractual risk reviews, alternative
risk financing and analytical support related to claims and budget projections
and allocation process for relevant programs.

What you’ll be doing
Oversee and manage procurement of
Property, Marine Cargo and Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) for the
North American Region including but not limited to the placement, determination
of the appropriate limits, risk assumption by Toyota or mitigated through other
risk financing programs. Areas of responsibility will include:
Gather and prepare information for
underwriting submissions
Review accuracy of all quotes,
binders, and policies
Assist in preparation of internal
and external meeting presentation materials, including insurance program
Manage respective Property, Marine
Cargo and OCIP claims and loss control activities;
Manage and implement strategy set
forth for the Property related insurance programs for Toyota’s North American
operations including but not limited to program placement, limits and risks
being assumed by Toyota or mitigated through risk financing programs;
Cultivate and maintain key
relationships with global insurance partners, brokers, other third-party
service providers, and other business partners (internal and external) as needed;
Organize, develop and implement
effective Risk Management loss control and prevention programs to protect the
organization both internally and externally from risks that threaten its
  • financial integrity from a first party and/or liability perspective including
but not limited to attending Property loss control visits, as necessary,
throughout North America;
Identify exposures, develop and
recommend creative and alternative solutions to complex risks, implement
approved programs, promote loss prevention, update and monitor compliance with
insurance procedures and manage safety/risk management manuals;
Provide risk management related
consulting to clients throughout the North American Region such as assessing
risks presented through contracts and agreements and to effectively recommend,
approve or reject appropriate contractual terms and conditions;
Analyze and contribute on the final
decision for the cost structure or financial impact to business units,
affiliates and various internal and external stakeholders as it relates to the
Property risk financing programs;
Strategically elevate significant
risks to the appropriate levels with the organization; and
Plan, coordinate, participate and/or
manage projects with internal stakeholders as appropriate.
What you bring

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Risk Management, Business, Finance or related field;
Demonstrated experience in multi-national risk management OR insurance-related field;
Demonstrated experience with contractual risk management;
Continue to cultivate strong relationships with Japanese markets;
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
Must be able to manage and administer programs from ground-up;
Must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication and presentation skills;
Must be capable of working independently and in a team;
Must possess thorough knowledge of property, cargo and construction related insurance programs;
Must be able to demonstrate strong decision-making abilities and strong analytical / problem-solving skills;
Demonstrated negotiation skills.
Added bonus if you have

Experience in overseeing complex management of property, cargo and OCIP-related claims;
Certification in Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Enterprise Risk Management (ERM);
Experience with risk management information database software.
