At the job site in Greer, SC, employees normally work 40 hours per week, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. We are currently looking for applicants who are interested in a position without the need to travel. Since our employees do not travel, we do not pay per diem, but we do offer paid vacation and holiday time.
The Pipefitter is responsible for performing the daily operations of, and the preparation, assembling, and repairs of all pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and pressures.
Assemble, inspect, test, and repair pipe systems used to control plant operations
Ensure proper placement and alignment according to blueprints, specifications, diagrams, schematics or instructions
Perform inspections of completed pipe system and components to determine structural and operational soundness and to detect abnormal fluctuations
Perform test to locate defective components in systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals
Conduct tests on new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria as established by the policies and procedures and/or written test plans
Ability to use, maintain and possess required hand tools necessary to perform task assigned
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the related field
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
Demonstrate ability to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on quantity and quality
Must be able to read blueprints, mechanical drawings and welding symbols.
Demonstrate a high level of customer service, strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills
Must rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Must have the ability to use and provide personal hand tools and equipment – common to the pipefitter trade
Greater than 5 years experience in various forms of pipefitting with extensive knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures
