Responsibilities
The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the stable operation of organizations overall network operations. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links.

Design, deploy, and maintain company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks to support the organizations operations.
Create and maintain network policies to route and shape traffic according to priority defined by business operations.
Create complex routing designs to leverage primary and secondary networks ensuring all data flows according to set policies.
Configure and test complex network operating systems ensuring best practice standards are in place for servers, routers, switches, UPS, and any other network hardware.
Configure, install, and maintain Windows\Linux servers and workstations software and hardware. (Virtual and Physical).
Execute network operating system upgrades for feature enhancements and security patches.
Manage organizations servers and virtual and hardware appliances ensuring stable normal operations.
Manage security solutions, including but not limited to firewall, anti-virus, URL filtering, email encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
Create and maintain user and site-to-site VPN connectivity to support business objectives ensuring latest security standards are applied.
Plan, design, and execute network and server equipment, hardware and software upgrades with limited to no down time.
Independently analyze, design and implement solutions for infrastructure projects with minimum oversight
Design and implementing advanced voice and SIP enabled converged networks (LAN\WAN), specifically related to Avaya IPO products.
Perform server and security audits to ensure that all best practices are in place to protect private company information and PHI data.
Create, monitor and maintain storage arrays and storage that is assigned to Virtual machines.
Utilize Netapp and other backup standards such as Veeam to execute and monitor information backup and recovery.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Conduct top level down troubleshooting to detect and resolve network performance or outages quickly.
Develop and maintain network services documentation.
Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
Research, suggest and implement software packages for department and company use.
Lead and mentor junior members of the team.
Responsibilities include other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
College diploma or university degree in the field of Network Administration or Computer Science or 4 years equivalent work experience.
Certifications in Cisco and\or Juniper are recommended and a plus.
Extensive knowledge of Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos Network Operating Systems required.
Knowledge of Citrix Netscaler and Cisco wireless networking.
Knowledge of Veeam Backup and Replication.
Detailed working knowledge of routing and switching protocols and designs including BGP
Capable of maintaining and managing multiple WAN’s to support various business objectives.
Skilled in automating processes using Powershell (preferred) or Python.
Ability to rack and organize cabling in a neat and organized manner.
Working technical knowledge of server and PC operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
Extensive application experience with Active Directory, Exchange, SMTP.
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
Detailed understanding and execution of virtual infrastructure (VMWare).
Ability to conduct and interpret traffic mirroring to gain insight into networking issues as required.
Hands-on hardware & Software troubleshooting experience.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
Highly self-motivated and directed with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong customer service skills & capable of working with end users.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Must be available 24 x 7 in the event of any Network Outage.
Must be able to read, speak and understand the English language.
