We support students ages 5 to 22 with disabilities and challenging behaviors that significantly impede their learning. Minnick Schools is a private special education day school for students with disabilities licensed by the Virginia Board of Education in Roanoke, Harrisonburg, Wytheville, Wise, and Bristol.
EnCircle is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide support in the Minnick Schools to teachers, assistant teachers, educational aides, administrators, other school personnel, and families. Part-time and Full-time positions are available.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, REQUIREMENTS AND PREREQUISITES

Master’s in special education, behavior analysis, or psychology required.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required.

Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) by the Virginia Board of Medicine or license eligible.

Expertise in the field and knowledge of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), experience working in a school setting is preferred.

Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is preferred.

Experience in teaching or providing behavioral and academic support to multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to cultivate teamwork and foster staff professional development and competency.

Minimum 6 months of experience working with children with Autism, Developmental Disability (DD), Intellectual disability (ID) and/or Emotional Disability (ED).

Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members.

Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), classroom management strategies, individual behavior intervention plan development, data collection methods, and positive behavior support strategies required.

Serve as a mandated reporter.

Adherence to a high level of professional and ethical standards.

Valid Virginia Drivers’ License and proof of insurance.

Satisfactory Driving Record in accordance with agency standards.

Ability to organize work effectively.

Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and complete required paperwork according to agency requirements on a timely basis.

Basic computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office.

Ability to observe health and safety regulations.
-
Ability to assist with crisis de-escalation techniques, including physical management, and to obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and Safety Care.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions: May be required to perform any of the following duties:

Complete functional behavior assessments (FBAs) at the request of IEP teams.

Write, review, and update behavior intervention plans and protocols for students.
-
Train staff to collect data and implement behavior intervention strategies/protocols and visual supports using behavioral skills training and coaching.
-
Provide follow up monitoring to ensure fidelity of implementation of behavior intervention plans and protocols.
-
Assist teachers in completing AFLS assessment for students.
-
Attend IEP meetings as requested.

Collaborate with teachers to write skill acquisition plans and set up data collection forms for IEP goals.

Train staff using Minnick Schools’ competency-based staff training system.

Set up behavior data sheets and graph/summary files for students as they enroll and update behavior data sheets and graph/summary files as behaviors tracked are added/removed.

Participate in behavior data review meetings with classroom staff and review behavior data summaries.

Document services and support provided in accordance with Minnick Schools’ service log guidelines and submit service log to the Supervisor of Behavior Analytic Programming weekly.

Perform duties as assigned by Principal/Educational Coordinator and Supervisor of Behavior Analytic Programming.
