Travel: Up to 25%

Minimum Educational Req: Four-year college degree

Years of Experience: 7+ years of experience in product management and innovation, preferably distance learning.

Position Summary:
The Product Innovation Director position is a new leadership role responsible for ensuring that new products and enhancements to existing products are positioning the Company to fulfill its brand promise of “providing an innovative and results driven learning experience". This position will lead the product strategy designed to take advantage of emerging opportunities and continue leading in our targeted industries. This position is expected to bring a diverse skill set to the company including the ability to bring innovative and creative thinking to the table, apply metrics and business acumen to prioritize concepts, and positioning the company for sustained strategic growth.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:
Craft and own the product vision for the Company from ideation through full commercialization delivering positive return on investment.
Evaluate the competitive position of the Company and design product innovations that support long-term growth for the Company based on trends and competitive intelligence.
Provide internal and external Voice of the Customer (VOC) guidance from ideation through launch.
Responsible for needs discovery, customer problem identification, market and customer segmentation, opportunity sizing, and cost/benefit analysis.
Ability to mock-up product concepts, prototypes and proofs of concept (POC) to test product ideas and features directly with end users to gather immediate feedback for product and feature prioritization.
Lead the development of product innovation roadmaps, including identification of key technologies and solution gaps.
Lead new product and existing product enhancement design, development and implementation.
Research industry eLearning and mLearning trends and provide updates to Company stakeholders.
Lead, manage and hold execution teams accountable to new product development projects, milestones and serve as the business and technical advisor on designated products.
Communicate product roadmap progress and risks to executive management and cross-functional teams.
Responsible for ensuring all products are released and serving as the main point of contact on all customer feedback related to products.
Partner with cross-functional leadership team members to enable successful feature launches and support go-to-market (GTM) campaigns (Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, IT, Customer Sales & Service and Compliance).
Leads all activities and supervises staff in the Product Development department. Help teams manage product backlogs and prioritization on an ongoing basis.
Develops and manages Product Development Department and product budgets.

Skills Required:
Passion for creativity and innovation that integrates technology into the customer experience via product management and development.
Ability to identify problems with existing products or unmet needs in the market, and develop solutions to meet those needs.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities, projects and people, with minimal direction.
Experience with and understanding of adult learning methodologies and implementation.
Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated research, analysis, problem solving and solution development at both a strategic and functional level, across multiple industries.
Strong knowledge of agile and lean product management and development principles.
Demonstrated excellence in project management skills and use of common project management tools.
Excellent presentation skills to effectively communicate to groups of any size.

Technical Software Skills and Experience Desired:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suite of products and tools.
Understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS) and technologies utilized to implement cloud offerings.
Experience in designing and enhancing mobile and web-based learning delivery.
Experience in mocking-up feature concepts for market testing.
Experience with industry leading course authoring and learning management systems.
Proficiency with project management tools (JIRA preferred).
Background in the industries served by The CE Shop.
Experience with Agile Product Management and Development Processes.
