Parkwood Behavioral Health System has provided behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. We are located in DeSoto County, in the uppermost northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

Parkwood Behavioral Health System includes a 148-bed inpatient acute and residential care facility, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.
We are currently seeking a full-time Biller/Collector who will be responsible for the daily operations of the collection department. The Collector will ensure the collection of payments due to Parkwood Hospital in a timely, accurate manner. Bill UB04 claims to insurance companies. Follow-up on claims billed to the insurance. Back-up for payment posting, deposit preparation and insurance verification. The Collector functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health System.

The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Collector must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the department and hospital.
High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
Three or more years of general accounting/collection experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Hospital medical billing experience required.
Knowledge of collections, hospital insurance billing, general accounting and working with computer systems are required.
In absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable time frame via the organization’s orientation and training program.
