What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be assigned to an area covering around 600 retail stores to evaluate risks and ensure all aspects of retail security and loss prevention are functioning correctly. You’ll also investigate retail fraud and burglaries and prepare detailed investigative reports to support the resolution of cases. Acting as a trusted advisor at all levels, the business will be reliant upon your expertise to reduce and control losses and protect our employees and assets.
Investigating cases of retail fraud and burglaries and preparing detailed reports.
Conducting regular retail store security assessments to evaluate physical and electronic security standards.
Reviewing operational controls and deficiencies with field and store management.
Developing and presenting materials to retail store employees to raise awareness of retail security and loss prevention standards and practices.
Identifying best practices and focused crime prevention solutions, and partnering with teams to oversee their implementation.
Developing professional relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and retail associations to understand crime trends and emerging loss prevention issues.
The position conducts and supports Company-wide investigations regarding theft, fraud and suspected violations of Company policy, the Verizon Wireless Code of Business Conduct, and law. The position is responsible for developing investigative plans, gathering and evaluating facts, conducting investigative interviews, writing investigative reports, making presentations to management, handling calls of an emergency nature, and interfacing with the law enforcement/intelligence community.
Ensure the safety and security of employees, and the protection/security of proprietary information and physical assets.
Conduct and support Company-wide investigations regarding theft, fraud and suspected violations of law, Company policy, and the Verizon Code of Conduct.
Provide recommendations for the implementation of policies and procedures, and creation or modification of systems in order to prevent and/or minimize loss or liability.
Develop and maintain constructive relationships throughout the Great Lakes Market and other Markets in order to facilitate the Company-wide security program.
Interact with all levels of Company personnel on security matters and support security initiatives for Retail and all other departments.
Identify, develop and implement process improvements for the business.
Support the Loss Prevention, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Public Safety Outreach, and Executive Protection\Physical Security teams within the Corporate Security organization as needed.

You understand the importance of retail security and loss prevention for companies and their employees and the magnitude of the risk of emerging retail security threats. Analyzing situations to understand root causes and communicating your assessment comes easily to you. As a multi-tasker, you thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment where your organization and time management strengths are needed. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy working with teams to implement security and loss prevention plans and identify risks.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Valid driver's license.
Experience in conducting investigations or audits; and formal investigative interviewing experience.
Willingness to travel and availability to respond to emergency security matters on a 24 x 7 basis.
Even better if you have:
CFI, CFE, CPP, LPQ, or LPC professional qualification.
Interviewing skills including Reid or Wicklander/Zulawski interview training.
Investigative skills and experience writing detailed investigative reports.
Experience of retail operations, inventory control reconciliation, and current LP technological applications.
Microsoft Office Suite experience with an emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Four or more years of experience in conducting investigations or audits; and formal investigative interviewing experience.
Knowledge of billing, provisioning and point of sale systems.
Civil or criminal litigation support experience and familiarity with law enforcement practices involving sophisticated investigations, prosecutions and providing testimony.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Capability to write concise and factual investigative reports.
Ability to recognize and evaluate facts and objectively analyze situations.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Google Applications.
Strong knowledge of the Internet.
Strong knowledge of Verizon Wireless practices or knowledge of cellular equipment and network.
Data warehouse/data mining skills and reporting capabilities; experience in extracting data from the VZW data warehouse or other large data warehouses.
Established network in the law enforcement community.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and matters.
Strong project management skills with proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion.
Diplomacy in interfacing with Company personnel.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong analytical reasoning skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process high volumes of work in a timely and accurate manner.
Ability to operate in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
