Job Description

  • Preparation of computer aided cost estimates (Trimble Accubid / Change Order Pro) for electrical construction projects for various contract types: Lump Sum, GMP, T&M
  • Approach and develop electrical construction cost estimates at various points in a project’s lifecycle, from conceptual design through the final construction plans
  • Analyze bidding specifications to document and share project scope details and to outline potential hidden conditions
  • Present project estimates including scope of works to the preconstruction team highlighting constructability or risk concerns
  • Evaluation of subcontractor proposals, review of scope gaps or overlaps
  • Assist the project management team preparing large change order requests
  • Complete estimate hand-off procedures to production teams: Project Management, Field Supervision
  • Maintain and assist updating construction cost databases
  • Professional writing preparing various construction project documents including but not limited to Request of Information, Request for Proposals, and Request for Qualifications
  • Attend and collaborate with the production teams at various construction meetings held at the corporate office or jobsite
  • Attend industry events representing JBEC

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or other education and/or experience by which an understanding of electrical construction estimation for high-end installations was gained
  • Extensive experience in analyzing construction blueprints, and reviewing electrical specifications and code
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced work environment
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
