What are you doing forthe holidays?! We’re in at Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville in Chicago … and we’re so excited! We seek an experienced retailmanager to set up and run our holiday pop-up shop at ChristkindlmarketWrigleyville for 40 days in Chicago (11/15-12/31).

Job functions:

  • Setting up, organizing and breaking down all temporary store operations in this remote location and allocating responsibilities to staff effectively
  • Hiring 2-3 part time retail associates to effectivelystaff the retail presence
  • Scheduling associates to meet the needs of the event andmaximize productivity and profit for the duration of the event
  • Adapting professionally and effectively and with a greatdeal of independence to changing circumstances with regard to staffing,scheduling, weather and the needs of the event and the customers
  • Supervising and guiding staff toward maximum performanceduring the duration of their employ
  • Merchandising effectively to maximize sales
  • Effectively maintaining inventory and insightfullyplacing additional orders for shipment to site as needed
  • Providing daily marketing updates to communicatepresence via social media through the marketing department
  • Using varied POS systems and applying basic knowledge ofthe technology used to support electronic sales functions
  • Building and maintaining a positive work environment tomaximize morale and enthusiasm among the Chicago team for the duration of theevent
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationshipswith the on-site team and associated vendors and facility management staff

Requirements:

  • Previous retail management experience (3-5 years)
  • Event and trade show coordination experience preferred,but not required
  • Track record of over-achieving sales quota
  • Strong demonstrated ability to manage human resources
  • Familiar with POS systems and retail purchase practices
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond todifferent types of characters
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage timeeffectively
  • Ability to stand and lift and bend for an 8 hour shift asneeded
  • High school diploma or equivalent; collegedegree preferred
