Director of Digital, Integrated Communications

Overview

Matrix is looking for a passionate, bright and energetic digital candidate to join the Integrated Communications team, responsible for all Digital, PR and Media communications for the Matrix brand in the U.S across consumer and trade channels.

The role requires the ability to strategize and execute the best proactive and reactive digital programs to meet Matrix’s objectives. This includes working cross-functionally and executing programs across various digital media platforms to position Matrix as a digital leader. Candidate must be outgoing, have strong writing, research, creativity and innovation, analytical and presentation skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage internal and external resources to successfully bring projects to life. Digital Marketing, Backend knowledge for owned platforms, Digital Media and ECOMMERCE Content experience integral for the role.

This position reports to the Vice President, Integrated Communications and works closely with the Director PR, Social and Influencer teams and interfaces regularly with the VP of Marketing/Education and Marketing and Education Teams. 3+ Years of Digital/IT and Digital Marketing Experience.

Overall Responsibilities

Overall
Directs all digital platforms for Matrix US keeping in mind a multi-channel marketing strategic approach
Motivate team to develop creative and innovation Digital platforms into all key brand priorities
Execute research and provide insights for all brand priorities
Ensure that Matrix ranks in TOP 5 across all Digital Metrics from DOMO Dashboard and L2
Social Media (Technology and Innovation focus)
Working with PR develop strategic plans and execution to grow social media presence and user engagement efforts to achieve #1 position across all platforms
Work with Social Listening Team to ensure great customer service is applied to all posts
1. Platforms include: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram and will continue to expand

Identify emerging platform opportunities and create Digital campaigns that will help to propel the business
Working with PR/Social/Influencer/Marketing/Education Teams to help to develop social media to generate creative, innovative and lead generating strategies
Working with PR/Social/Influencer/Marketing teams to help update social media platforms with strategic, engaging and creative messaging to ensure content is generated to support all platforms (tips, images including skins and hero images, etc.)
Working with PR/Social/Influencer/Marketing/Education help to create Social Media campaigns that generates not only new likes, but also high engagement
Working with PR help help to manage social media listening strategies
Explore new technologies and provide recommendations
Knowledge of Social Bakers/Tribe Social Tool
Mobile
Develop strategic plans and execution to grow mobile presence and user engagement efforts
Direct all efforts surrounding media engagement like QR codes and ensure all experiences and relationships with vendors/brand marketing and suppliers generate lead data and customer connection
Direct Matrix Application strategy and execution of enhancements and /maintenance
Direct all optimization of websites for mobile in conjunction with website team
Direct all optimization of Facebook tabs for mobile
Direct and recommend advertising strategy for mobile including SOLOMO and other types
Identify emerging platforms and opportunities
Explore new technologies and provide recommendations
Email Marketing
Direct strategy for professional and consumer email campaigns
Websites
Direct website updates, monitor user generated content and respond to inquiries from consumers
Work with team to enhance and improve user experience/and key performance metrics
Direct all homepage callouts, managing product additions, blogs, SEO articles, etc.
Project based updates (i.e. Salon Finder)
Sites: MyMatrixFamily.com, Matrix.com. ChairsofChange.com, MatrixFriendsandFamily.com
Display/Search/Emerging Media planning
Manage advertising schedule and execution
Ensure digital programs that are on strategy, innovative, integrated and on budget
Work with agencies and freelancers to develop assets and distribute them across digital channels by closing dates
Manage SEO and SEM campaigns with the help of digital media agency Labelium
GROW rankings for Matrix for branded and non-branded key words for both SEO and SEM
CRM, Lead Generation Programs and Key Partnerships
Manage CRM digital responsibilities for Matrix working with Salon Centric and BSG, Chain partners
Manage lead collection
Working with Sales and Marketing building ongoing CRM Strategies (50+ campaigns annually)
Provide detail reporting around all CRM activities
Distribute leads to relevant distributors and manage process
Identify opportunities to cross promote Matrix digital content with our Distributor and Chain partners
Ecommerce
Interface with the PPD Ecommerce Teams to include: SalonCentric.com, eTailers, Cosmoprof and
Build strategies to build these highly unique and NEW channels of distribution
Develop reports providing updates on how Matrix is performing on all E-Commerce Platforms
Develop content strategy for all Ecommerce Platforms
Digital Media
Work with Marketing and Education Team’s to develop Digital Media strategy
Liase with Wavemaker – LOREAL USA Digital Media Agency
Prepare all Reports relating to Digital Media Strategy – PRE and POST Campaigns

Special programs:
Content creation and ideation for Matrix programs & integration with third party programs
Serve as liason across DMI, PPD, CMO/CMI
Video strategy
Other Digital Responsibilities
Gather requirements, usability testing, analytics, competitive analysis, content strategy and ongoing program optimization
Work closely with marketing, education, strategic initiatives and sales to implement campaigns across all platforms and create awareness about digital programs
Manage and execute contests, sweepstakes and giveaways
Monitor the communication between the Matrix social media community and the customer support team with a customer service attitude
Keep current on the latest industry trends and participate in brainstorming sessions
Reporting
Report on performance metrics by working closely with the digital media agencies and self-serve reporting tools (DOMO, CONTACTS, Brightedge, Google Analytics, Facebook/Insta dashboard, SCF dashboard, and other platforms from CMO/CMI Teams, etc.)
Data management of campaigns to ensure CRM opportunities are maximized
Measure success of campaigns, idemtify learnings and optimize future programs
Capture metrics and highlights in monthly scorecard and quarterly executive letter and presentation
Other Responsibilities
Open and manage digital POs, reconcile invoices, and assist in budget management
Assist and share in other areas as directed by VP of Integrated Communications, Director of PR, Social and Influencer
REQUIREMENTS

5+ years experience in a digital media role
Bachelors Degree required
Strong understanding of the Digital Media and Beauty Industry
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs. Ability to create high impact presentations.
Detail oriented.
Communicates clearly and succinctly in both oral and written forms.
Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm for marketing and communications (advertising, digital marketing, pr, media).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to travel.
SEO/SEM experience required
Digital Media, CRM and Ecommerce Experience required
Proactive and results oriented thinker who would flourish in an entrepreneurial environment where new ideas are championed.
