Respiratory Therapist (Per Diem + FTE)
Location: White Plains, New York
Positions Available:
- Night Full Time: 6:30 pm-6:45 am, 13 shifts per month, Monday - Friday, alternating weekends and holidays
- Night Per Diem: 6:30 pm-6:45 am, minimum 2 shifts per month, weekends included
Position Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory therapy services to both inpatients and outpatients. They will collaborate with patients, family members, physicians, and other healthcare team members to assess respiratory needs, plan care, implement therapy, and evaluate outcomes in accordance with hospital philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
- Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilation, both invasive and non-invasive.
- Conducts various types of breathing therapy and patient assessments.
- Performs postural drainage, percussion, and bronchial hygiene techniques.
- Performs bedside pulmonary function tests.
- Carries out blood gas puncture and analysis, including analyzer maintenance and quality control.
- Responds to cardiac arrest and Rapid Response situations; performs CPR.
- After demonstrating competency, becomes certified in emergency endotracheal intubation of adult patients.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an approved program of Respiratory Therapy.
- Must hold a current and valid New York State Respiratory Therapy license. Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Must hold a current BLS/CPR certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) are strongly recommended.

Pay: $89,464.00 - $93,830.00 per year
