The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is hiring for a SharePoint Support and Development Analyst, a full-time (unclassified) university position, located at CU Denver in downtown Denver, to assist with development and support for the university’s public-facing website that receives over 1.5 million visits per month and its private intranet serving over 12,000 employees. The sites are built in Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and 2013 respectively. This position provides primary SharePoint support during the university transition to a new Content Management Platform.
The role requires superior customer service skills and an enthusiasm for the SharePoint product. You will need to know what questions to ask to refine requests and facilitate discussion. Your ability to develop and maintain relationships with business analysts, designers, IT management and fellow developers will be critical to your success.
You must embrace the challenges of troubleshooting a complex and sometimes irrational system. You view documentation and sharing technical solutions not as a burden, but as a necessity. You have a keen interest in software development, application lifecycle management, project management, and you have a drive to learn of all things code, whether it be server-side or client-side.
Examples of Work Performed:
Meet with team members to provide interim SharePoint solutions
Handle support tickets for SharePoint, involving site modification, permissions, troubleshooting, light front-end code, web-part configuration and browser rendering issues.
Play a crucial role in SharePoint community support by being a subject matter expert which would involve teaching training courses.
Facilitating regularly scheduled help sessions and providing in-person assistance to novice users.
Assist with release planning, readiness and solution deployment through integration and acceptance testing and post-implementation support.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at up to $65,000 depending upon the flexible work options and is commensurate with skills and experience.
Flexible work options (all options include benefits)
32-hour work week (M - Th support coverage required) or
24-hour work week (M - Th support coverage required)
Ability to work remotely (except for on-site training classes)

Completion of four years of college with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with major emphasis in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Systems or a closely related field.
4+ years SharePoint 2010/2013 web development experience. Demonstrated experience as a SharePoint power user and developer.
Experience with SQL Server
Professional web application development experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
Knowledge and skills in advanced SharePoint development, including SharePoint publishing sites, master pages, layouts, XSLT/list-forms, content query web part, KwizCom web parts, display template, cross site publishing, client-side rendering (CSR), SharePoint APIs such as REST or CSOM and SharePoint App development.
Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
Experience working with or for a higher education institution.
Proven experience working and developing in SharePoint 2010 and 2013.
Demonstrated complete and thorough understanding of the SharePoint platform and its out-of-the-box functionality for 2010 and preferably 2013 versions. This would include publishing/branding and intranet functionality.
Demonstrated strong experience with lists, libraries, Info Path, workflows, web parts, content types, connectivity services, and other out-of-the-box SharePoint functionality.
Experience with application lifecycle management (ALM).
Experience training end-users and troubleshooting issues.

Self-motivated and self-directed.
Strong English written/verbal communication.
Strong interpersonal skills, tactfulness, customer-service ethic and follow-through are a must.
Ability to multitask and remain flexible as priorities change.
Must be comfortable making decisions independently as well as within a team framework.
Must be a confident self-starter who possesses tenacity, curiosity, and a penchant for detail.
