Florida Blue Engagement Team: As part of our Florida Blue Engagement Team as a Health Coach, you'll play a vital role in making outbound campaign calls to support members in understanding their insurance plan benefits and accessing resources available to them as part of their plan. In addition, you will offer health coaching over the telephone, manage a caseload of engaged members, and be a key resource in empowering our members to optimize their health outcomes. This position requires a commitment to a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled from 9AM-5:30 PM CST or 10:30-7PM CST.
As a Health Coach at Pager Health, you will be responsible for implementing our lifestyle coaching program. Your role will focus on achieving positive outcomes for our members by connecting them with necessary resources and aligning with client expectations. Through efficient and effective delivery of lifestyle interventions and excellent customer service, you will ensure that every interaction adds value for the member.
- Conduct coaching sessions using various modalities (telephonic, secure message, chat, etc.).
- Guide members in developing personalized action steps and goals aligned with their coaching programs.
- Apply motivational interviewing techniques and adhere to the coaching model while providing relevant communications and educational materials to support members in achieving health and wellness objectives.
- Possess detailed knowledge of each client’s wellness program to respond to member inquiries regarding incentives and program specifics effectively.
- Facilitate referrals to external vendors and client resources as necessary.
- Proficient in utilizing technological tools and systems.
- Able to work in multiple systems simultaneously.
- Document all member interactions to ensure accurate and comprehensive records.
- Support special projects within Care Delivery as needed, such as mentoring new coaches, participating in company initiatives, conducting onsite webinars, and contributing to training development and reviews.
- Strive to achieve all Care Delivery metrics and goals.
- Attend and complete required training sessions.
- Ensure confidentiality in handling all Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) obtained.
Required Qualifications:Experience:
- 1+ years related work experience in health and wellness coaching, personal training, health education, counseling, or social work required
- Knowledge of health behavior change techniques.
- Passion and personal accountability for improving health of program participants.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Education:
- Related bachelor's degree or additional equivalent work experience in a health-related discipline including nursing, dietetics, exercise science, counseling, psychology, social work, or health education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish and English.
- Experience with health education in weight management, tobacco cessation, stress management, and physical activity preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of various biometric results including blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight management preferred
- Master’s degree in a related field including nursing, dietetics, exercise science, counseling, psychology, social work, or health education.
- National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Registered Dietitian (RD)
- Licensed Therapist or Counselor

For Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Washington DC-based employment: In accordance with the Pay Transparency laws the pay range for this position is $24.00 to $32.00. The compensation package may include stock options, plus a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, generous PTO, stipends for professional development, and wellness benefits. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. The range listed only applies to Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Washington DC.
