Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Corporate - Southeast United States Region

Position Purpose: Engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
Develop mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators.
Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.
Maintain system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Required (Master's preferred)
Licensed as a BSME
10 years' work experience in manufacturing or industrial environment

Required to talk and/or hear in an office and industrial setting (noise level will vary significantly between work areas). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces from 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment
Work is performed in an office and industrial-manufacturing environment with significant time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
