GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION * *
This position of barista/ café supervisor, referred to as a “Skipper,” works alongside team members that have intellectual development disabilities (IDD). Skippers contribute to the success of our mission to provide excellent customer service and quality French cuisine, while supporting people with IDD to foster meaningful and independent employment opportunities. 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Operations (70%):
- Greet guests with a joyful attitude and deliver excellent customer service at all points of service.
- Maintain appearance and cleanliness of location ensuring products are stocked and areas are properly sanitized.
- Communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with team members and guests.
- Provide menu information and cafe’s mission with guests
- Prepare drink and food items accurately
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Ensure accurate cash management and balance the register during the closing shift
- Restock supplies and inform management of inventory needs
- Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces regularly
- Complete daily checklists on Jolt to ensure proper opening and closing procedures
- Crew Member Supervision (25%)
- Supervise and support crew members in developing their workplace independence
- Implement and reinforce training strategies as designed by the Head Trainer including, but not limited to, checklists, visual aids, Jolt software
- Monitor crew members’ progress and communicate any challenges or achievements with management team
- Provide 1:1 coaching to crew members to assist with operational tasks including, but not limited to, espresso machine, dishwasher, food preparation, POS system
- Professional Development (5%)
- Participate in weekly trainings to improve skills and knowledge of cafe operations and crew members’ progress
- Implement new procedures as outlined in weekly meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
- Able to stand on their feet for long periods of time.
- Able to lift and carry over 25 pounds.
- Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- High school diploma
- 2+ years of previous experience as a barista or server in a related position
- Familiar and comfortable with working with individuals with disabilities.
