Commissioning / Start-Up Manager

Plans, manages/directs activities associated with the commissioning of energy, advanced manufacturing, facilities, wastewater/water, dams, highways, pipelines, landfills, or other construction projects. The incumbent studies drawings and specifications to plan and sequence the commissioning and start-up of installed systems
Serve as Project Safety Officer (in absence of an assigned Supervisor)
Collaborates with Project Manager in the development and modification to the Project Execution Plan (PEP). Provide updates to the Project Manager in accordance with the PEP as it relates to cost, schedule and client management.
Develop the Project Commissioning Plan and appropriate commissioning checklists, test plans and related documentation.
Estimates cost of materials, labor and use of equipment required to fulfill commissioning scope.
Onsite supervision of contractors and vendors ensuring work is performed in accordance with the plans and specifications as indicated in the project documents.
Assembles members of organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers) at start of project to review job specific issues (schedules, health & safety issues, subcontractor coordination, etc.).
Assign roles and responsibilities for field activities in accordance with the Commissioning and Project Execution Plans.
Obtains client feedback and maintains client relationships.
Develops and executes training of customer staff and other project team members.
Participates actively in creating a safety culture in the office and at the jobsite
Adheres to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm’s Quality Management System.

Skills & Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Applied Science plus 10+ years relevant years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or Construction plus 3-5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable
Ability to read plans/drawings/specifications and interpret data.
Construction sequencing and planning, construction scheduling/durations, safety planning, means and methods.
Facility operations and maintenance background a plus.
OSHA 30 hour Safety Training preferred.
Strong technical writing skills.
Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of operation and use of a variety of process equipment.
Knowledge and familiarity with Project Scheduling. High level of energy and ability to motivate.
Travel required.
