Overview:
RES is currently accepting applications for a Horticultural Shipping Assistant. This position is based out of our Baldwin City, KS office.
This mission: The Horticultural Assistant will assist in a variety of horticultural activities at the direction of a supervisor or team leader. Carrying out all tasks involved with containerized native plant shipping and logistics, including health care and inventory control tasks. This position does help out with production responsibilities, during the slow season for shipping/inventory control.
What your day-to-day might look like?:
- Assist with fulfilling plant orders to be shipped to customers.

Ensures that plant material to be shipped meets all QA/QC guidelines, client expectations, and project specifications.

Perform care and maintenance of containerized plants.

Assist with manual weed control procedures in containerized plants.

Assist with inventory counts and records maintenance.

Assist with relocation of plant material when needed.

Perform general housekeeping tasks.

Assists in plant production, facilities maintenance, and other nursery duties, as directed.

Carries out work in a safe manner, in full accordance with safety guidelines. Immediately cease work, if unsafe conditions are identified. Correct and report unsafe conditions and behaviors.

Qualifications:
Required:
High School degree or equivalent- A Valid Driver’s License
Preferred:
Ability to obtain a Fed Med Card- Horticultural or ecological experience
