The Social Media Specialist uses their knowledge and expertise in marketing and social media to assist with achieving the marketing goals of the organization. As an integral part of the Marketing team, this person works collaboratively to plan, implement and track social and digital media campaigns in order to increase fundraising revenue toward ending hunger and poverty.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
Project coordination of social media campaigns (60%)
Responsible for the day-to-day content management of the community across all social media channels including: writing posts, gathering and creating content including images and video from existing content library and repository.
Maintain an editorial calendar of content and collaborate across teams to coordinate social campaign efforts.
Ensure the Heifer brand voice comes through across all social platforms and posts.
Assist in developing and implementing Heifer’s strategic plan to grow social media audience for key demographics.
Coordinate with cross-functional team members and external agencies to meet deadlines and drive data-driven strategic recommendations.
Stay current on industry trends and technological developments, sharing this information and best practices to inform team members and evolve the social media strategy.
Reporting and tracking (30%)
Monitor social trends to identify opportunities to promote Heifer’s content.
Develop and maintain ongoing reporting (weekly, monthly quarterly) and forecasting of all KPIs across social media channels.
Use web analytics and other available tools to assemble data from multiples sources.
Schedule team meetings and conference calls.
Participating in weekly team meetings.
Communicate with social media vendors in a timely manner.
May perform other job duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated ability to manage social media campaigns with creativity and consistent branding
Fundamental knowledge of social media publishing and moderation.
Most Critical Proficiencies
Proficient in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and other platform insights
Exceptional journalistic research skills–must be resourceful to identify, gather and create content including images and video.
Experience working with social analytics and listening tool(s) – Sprinklr a plus.
Experience working with web analytics tools.
Self-starter, with ability to navigate ambiguous data and requests.
Strong multi-tasking capabilities and ability to juggle multiple projects.
Excellent organization and communication skills with the ability to converse diplomatically and tactfully with a wide variety of people.
Excellent writing, editing and research skills.
Comfortable multi-tasking and able to deliver results under pressure and tight deadlines on an occasionally non-traditional work schedule.
