Full Job Description
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer of the Health and Human Services Commission, the Director of Business Operations performs highly advanced (senior level) managerial, consultative, and professional work providing leadership, professional expertise, and strategic direction. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is responsible for overseeing operations and providing direction and support to the CFO Office in coordination of planning, personnel, required training, session related activities, and other administrative activities.
The Director of Business Supports will work collaboratively to continuously evaluate, monitor and improve processes and facilitate and provide support for the Office of the CFO as well as provide leadership, guidance, and support. The Business Operations Director provides highly advanced management and oversight activities for the operation of the CFO area support functions.
Responsible for high-level decision making, public speaking, and developing relationships with and providing consultative services and technical assistance to CFO management and staff. Responsible for special projects as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
(20%) Provides overall program vision, leadership and strategic direction to the division including managing, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating operations and policies to promote effective program administration and service delivery.
(20%) Plans, implements and completes administrative assignments on behalf of the Chief Financial Officer.
(20%) Serves as a member of the senior management team assisting agency executives in devising plans and activities to accomplish visionary concepts outlined by the Chief Financial Officer.
(10%) Assesses and directs the structure and delivery of operation functions with the Chief Financial Officer.
(20%) Coordinates and assists during Legislative session regarding agency cost estimate requests. Selects, manages, and develops the administrative support team including performance reviews, consultation, training, personnel actions, and leave authorizations.
(10%) Makes presentations and provides information to Chief Financial Officer management and staff regarding business operation programs and services.

Initial Selection Criteria:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Three years of experience in operational management.
