Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. welcomes a new Senior Architect to join our Chicago team. As a Senior Architect you will execute complex designs and project manage a large variety of projects acting as lead. Typical design work includes new and renovation of offices, laboratories, medical centers, airports, process facilities, schools and similar types of facilities.

Day to day responsbilities include:
Design to client and regulatory requirements
Manage mid to large size projects and programs
Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule and budget variances in a timely manner
Manage subordinate or other discipline resources to quality, schedule and budget requirements
Construction Administration duties, including but not limited to shop drawing review and disposition
Prepare project documents, specifications and reports
Maintain project files
Create and enforce project quality plan
Data and document entry into various platforms
Report safety, health and quality issues to management
Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
Assist management as directed
Revit, CAD and CADD
Mentor Architects in less senior positions
Other duties as assigned
Preferred skills and qualifications:
Memberships and active participation in discipline specific professional organizations such as AIA
Buildings, schools/education, restaurant, office, government and private clients, value engineering experience
Certification in LEED, preferred
Minimum skills and qualifications:
Five year professional degree in Architecture, and/or MArch
Professional Architectural registration in Illinois
Ten years of relevant experience
Proficient in Revit, BIM360, ACAD, MicroStation and Rhino, as well as Bluebeam, Illustrator, Photoshop, OnDesign, Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis
Familiar with discipline specific design software and design management systems
Able to understand Civil, Structural, and MEP Documents
