Full Job Description
Sunshine Development School, Inc. (SDS), a premier special education school, has a substantial growth opportunity for a financial accountant. SDS, in operation for over 25 years, serves children with a variety of developmental and other disabilities, including autism, small and large motor disabilities, speech behavioral disabilities and special learning needs.
We are actively seeking a professional who integrates business acumen into their daily work, with experience to include the following:
Handling monthly closings, financial statement preparation and account analysis, and bookkeeping entries
Experience or coursework in financial analysis, modeling, taxes or related, or a demonstrated desire to learn more in these areas
Proficiency working with Quickbooks and Excel
Working with/for a business as an accountant for a min of 2-3 years, after at least one years’ experience working under the supervision of a professional CPA firm or Technical Controller for at least 2 years
An accounting or related degree from a 4 year college, CPA preferred; MBA a plus.
A demonstrated experience in enhancing and managing processes, projects and workflows, with the ability to multitask
A demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects independently, under time constraints; ability to handle shifting priorities
A demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with clarity, and to different audiences, together with a fine tuned ability to actively listen
A demonstrated to lead individual(s) with projects, or has the demonstrated capabilities to do so
Our full time role works a traditional 40 hour week, yet individuals may need to work after hours and on weekends as business needs require.
Compensation We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Compensation will be commensurate with experience up to $70k.
