Our Hotel Account Manager plays a critical role within the Hotwire Partner Group by ensuring hotels in primary markets are improving their opportunities by providing rates and inventory availability to Hotwire. You will be responsible for both day-to-day functional aspects, as well as planning for the long-term growth of a Hotwire Primary Market which includes 200+ hotel suppliers. This entails building and contributing to revenue growth, developing and sustaining strong hotel partner relationships, conducting comprehensive analyses and with enthusiasm finding opportunities. As part of the Hotwire Partner Group, you will regularly collaborate with other team members while working independently on individual projects and markets. S/he will also work in partnership with other teams, including Hotwire Partner Group’s National Team, GMM Market Managers/Market Associates and Global Partner Group.
This market-based role requires you to have the ability to learn and adapt quickly, to develop, implement and refine new strategies regularly and to consistently deliver results in a time-sensitive environment. Your previous experience with analytics and light data mining is highly desirable, and while this position requires a penchant for looking at numbers, equally important is the ability to sell the Hotwire value proposition to hotels, communicate effectively with partners, be a self-starter and independently act upon opportunities to move the business forward. Your ability to develop small-scale project plans and inform constituents with progress updates is also critical to success in this role. The daily functions include communicating with hotels, colleagues and making suggestions on how to grow the business in the assigned market(s).
You deliver revenue and/or acquisition goals through management of inventory and rates. You work with hotels to obtain inventory and strategically bold rates in assigned markets. You increase inventory levels through acquisition and maintain inventory quality through ongoing account management.
You analyze inventory levels and develop strategies and tactics for improving Hotwire sales opportunities for short window unsold rooms. You strive to exceed set revenue, room night and other business targets.
You fully understand and articulate the Hotwire value proposition to hotel partners as well as to consumers.
You provide relevant performance reporting analysis to partners at the property level to implement great outcome for everyone to achieve market performance and long-term strategic goals.
You monitor and improve inventory quality within assigned markets.
You understand the Hotwire extranet and support hotels with questions on usage of the system.
You work alongside internal teams and/or independently develop Hotwire promotional emails and materials to be sent out to your suppliers on a regular basis.
You inspect and audit data integrity on accounts and static hotel data, and regularly update the proper systems accordingly.
You consistently provide first class supplier relations to Hotwire partner hotels.
You engage in business reviews quarterly with assigned management companies.
You conduct face-to-face meetings with hoteliers in assigned region, traveling up to 50% of the time.
You liaise with internal GMM market managers to drive strategies for the assigned region.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Strong MS Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Salesforce, Clear Slide, Exact Target and Microstrategy a plus.
Ability to drive within the USA, valid US driver’s license.
Travel: Up to 50% of your time is spent en route. You are able and willing to travel!
Work Experience and Education Guidelines:
You have 2+ years of experience in an account management, sales or OTA market consulting role.
Experience with online businesses (especially travel) is preferred.
B.A./B.S. degree is required.
