The Prudential Insurance Company’s Alternative Assets Group is seeking a real estate investment professional to join its growing platform based in Newark, NJ. The Alternative Assets Group is responsible for managing approximately $10 billion in assets, comprised of private equity and hedge funds, as well as real estate and other investments in real assets on behalf of Prudential.
Prudential’s real assets portfolio, with a current net asset value of approximately $2.5 billion, includes investments in real estate funds, tax credit funds, separate accounts, and selective co-investments. The candidate will be expected to:
Participate in all aspects of the investment underwriting and diligence process for investments in real estate funds, separate account investments, and in Low Income Housing Tax Credit funds (“LIHTC”);
Perform ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of specific investments as well as the aggregate portfolio;
Work with operations, accounting, tax and legal departments as part of the investment due diligence and execution process;
Conduct market, industry and strategy research and be informed about current and developing sector and market trends as well as support related analytical projects.
2-4 years of prior experience in direct real estate investment and/or real estate fund investment
Strong analytical and modeling skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
Solid verbal and written communications skills
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
CFA or CAIA a plus
