Job Summary

The Staff Accountant provides support to the Controller in the general oversight of accounting operations and is an essential part of delivering an exceptional experience to our customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leads Month End / Year End processing
  • Processes manual and imported Journal Entries
  • Assists Controller with annual audits and budgets
  • Reviews monthly account reconciliations
  • Reviews GL accounts for accuracy
  • Assists in preparation of internal and external financial statements
  • Processes monthly/annual Sales and Use Tax payments and maintains Avalara software
  • Reviews customer and vendor Contracts / Terms and Conditions
  • Updates and maintains monthly Financial Dashboard
  • Maintains Fixed Asset Schedules
  • Monitors Line of Credit (LOC) compliance
  • Assists with accounting procedures across multiple entity organization
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assists with implementation of new Accounts Payable efficiencies including web services and electronic invoice entry
  • Serves as a back up to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Documents processes and assists in finding and implementing process improvement
  • Assists with establishing and maintaining internal controls
  • Administers and reconciles company credit card
  • Assists with weekly/monthly cash reconciliation
  • Prepares daily bank deposit
  • Processes daily/weekly check runs
  • Assists with customer and vendor relations by responding to inquiries as needed
  • Assists with maintaining customer and vendor information as needed
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with Multiple Entity accounting structure is HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Ability to Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously
  • Detail oriented
  • Demonstrates effective time management and daily prioritization

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of progressive experience as a Staff Accountant
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
  • 2-year Associate’s degree and equivalent experience is acceptable
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background screening

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $62,000.00 to $67,000.00 /year
