Experience Requirement:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in single-family or multi-family property maintenance, general service and other service responsibilities including the ability to recognize and repair residential household, electrical, plumbing and mechanical malfunctions or equipment failures

Role Definition:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting and troubleshooting service request issues and making repairs within Progress Residential single-family homes and delivering an outstanding customer experience while controlling costs and expenses.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assesses service request needs and determines the appropriate steps and equipment necessary to resolve the issue
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and resolves service requests as needed, involving the following skill sets:
  • Electrical and plumbing
  • A/C and heating systems
  • Appliances
  • Water irrigation systems
  • Stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings
  • Tile, carpet, and flooring
  • Roofing, gutters, fasteners
  • Interior/exterior lights
  • Fireplaces, ceiling fans
  • Gas fixtures and appliances
  • Shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors o Boiler, gas and electric
  • Door locks, P.O. boxes and locks
  • Security systems
  • Ceiling Leaks
  • Walls
  • Pool areas, tile, hot tub/spa, pool furniture
  • Other Maintenance areas as required
  • Reports major repairs or replacements prior to expenditure of funds
  • Ensures all workplace safety standards and practices are upheld and conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations (such as Lead-Based Paint, ADA, Fair Housing, HAZCOM Program OSHA, etc.)
  • Maintains regular attendance and excellent punctuality
  • Drives safely to each job site
Key Responsibilities/Processes:
  • Perform Maintenance Requests
  • Examines and diagnoses maintenance request problems to determine the most cost-effective and lasting method of repair
  • At the time of repair, fully documents all work including: before and after photographs, materials used during repair, and determination of resident financial responsibility
