The Firmwide Risk Identification team is a cross-LOB Corporate Risk function with an expansive mandate of critical importance to the firm and its capital planning process. This team needs to undertake many Risk Identification tasks, but at its core, is primarily responsible for:
Leading the enhancement and integration of ongoing risk identification processes with capital planning and stress testing activities
Managing integrated reviews, including the effective challenge of, the risk identification processes and results across the LOBs and the company.
Ultimately, the results and corresponding actions will be presented to senior management and the Board, via the Board Risk Committee. The team will manage the ongoing Firm's Risk Identification process and the related dialogue internally with businesses, Risk and Finance functions and externally with regulators on a global basis. The team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the framework, ensuring a thorough and repeatable process with direct linkages with Risk and Capital Management Committees. As the owner of the Risk Identification Framework, the team partners with Finance and Risk representatives across the company. The Managing Director’s firm wide exposure is significant as he/she will lead the team’s activities and related initiatives across the company and will closely partner with senior leaders in Risk and with capital management leaders in Finance.
This position is ideal for experienced candidates who have a strong background in Risk Management to have a visible impact leading a high-priority, cross-firm initiative and develop strong working relationships with senior management across multiple groups.
Enhance and maintain the Firmwide Risk Identification Framework focusing on maximizing the impact and effectiveness of the framework while minimizing the effort associated with its implementation
Work across LOBs to ensure robust risk identifications practices in line with the Firmwide Risk Identification Policy and Standards
Maintain the inventory of material risks for the company, including new, emerging and changing risks, across LOBs and their linkage to capital planning and capital stress testing processes
Coordinate the Risk Operating Committee’s Top Risk process
Drive the development pipeline for the Risk Identification infrastructure, FRIDA
Maintain and enhance the key components of the Risk ID Framework including but not limited to the Risk Taxonomy, Materiality Framework and Risk Driver Categories
Assess and refine the overall approach and incorporate further enhancements over time, including more granular risk identification, mapping of specific risk attributes and potential impacts, and sensitivity of risks to changing macroeconomic environments individually and in the aggregate
Minimum Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
15+ years work experience in the financial industry, preferably in Risk Management
Strong quantitative and analytical background with an understanding of Risk Management concepts and frameworks
Previous exposure to established capital management processes (e.g., ICAAP, CCAR, DFAST)
Proven experience managing teams and successfully leading large-scale cross-LOB, cross-functional initiatives

High level of professionalism and self-motivation
Strong project management skills and ability to manage large quantities of information and data
