Havenwyck Hospital is a 243 bed, Joint Commission accredited and licensed psychiatric and substance abuse facility. We specializing in providing behavioral health and substance abuse treatment and are located in Auburn Hills overlooking Lake Galloway.

Havenwyck Hospital provides a continuum of individualized treatment to children, adolescents and adults needing psychiatric and/or substance abuse treatment. Havenwyck strives to create a customized treatment plan for each individual based on level of maturity, life experiences, needs and other factors. Patients at Havenwyck are treated by a qualified multi-disciplinary team, including, but not limited to, a psychiatrist, registered nurses, social workers and recreational therapists, in a warm, supportive environment. Havenwyck Hospital's Residential Treatment Center is a secure treatment program for children and adolescents ages 8 to 17, with emotional and/or behavioral impairments that require them to be in a secure, 24-hour supervised therapeutic living situation. Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Social Work Associate to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.

The Social Work Associate provides social services under the direct supervision of a Lead Social Worker, or Director of Clinical Services.

Key Responsibilities include:
Participates as an integral professional member of a multidisciplinary treatment team led by the psychiatrist.
Facilitates the therapeutic milieu on the treatment unit.
Receives notification of admission of patients and referrals for social work intervention.
Performs social work interventions as directed by the treatment team, the treating psychiatrist and/or the Lead Social Work or designee.
Obtains and assesses social history information and reports this to the treatment teams.
Performs discharge planning as directed by the psychiatrist from the day of admission.
Provides group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, substance abuse group/didactic, and/or couples therapy as deemed appropriate by the treatment team, the treating psychiatrist and/or Lead Social Work.
Works a schedule tailored to needs of unit/program.
Acts as liaison for hospitalized patients with various community agencies and resources.

Job Requirements
Second year last quarter student in a Master of Social Work program from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
Experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit preferred.
Employee must be in good standing (evaluation/employment history, corrective action, etc.) to be considered for internal transfer.
