The City of Kentwood is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Deputy Court Clerk position. The Deputy Court Clerk responsibilities include the following:
Act as a receptionist, screen visitors, make and receive multiple telephone calls and direct the call appropriately;
Accept and process payments for fines and court filings;
Balance cash drawers in accordance with court, city, and Michigan policies/procedures;
Respond to inquiries and provide information to the attorneys, law enforcement, City staff, and the public;
Prepare and type correspondence, reports, forms, contracts, and specialized documents;
Prepare marriage licenses and schedule wedding ceremonies; and
Other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants will possess all of the following:
high school diploma or GED; and
two years of administrative support experience; or
an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred candidates will also have the following:
At least one year of collections, cashiering, and customer services experience.
This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. The hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Hours are subject to change as required. The pay range for this position is $16.41 to $22.97. Please see the Job Description for more details about this position.
