Additive Manufacturing Production Engineer - Polymers

As a member of the Applications Development Team, you will drive internal production processes and support development projects to enable the adoption of Additive Manufacturing in the market.

What you will be Doing:

  • Integrate production workflows internally at EOS to improve build output, QA standard practices and build request turnaround times
  • Implement system for gathering build analytics (number of parts, failure rates, build times, etc.) and reporting in a standard format
  • Operation of Polymer powder bed Additive Manufacturing equipment and software to design, build and post-process customer-specific Polymer benchmark parts
  • Serve as EOS polymer subject-matter-expert to customers for production planning and best practices
  • Implement inventory tracking system for consumables such as polymer powder and post-processing materials
  • Train customers and colleagues on Additive Manufacturing on design guidelines, build strategies, and machine operation
  • Technical project management to include the design of experiments, analysis of results, and the production and communication of results to stakeholders
  • Lead new hardware, process, and material innovations into our intellectual property portfolio
  • Understand the needs of our customers, translate into technical projects, and deliver to expand EOS offerings and capabilities
  • Actively maintain knowledge management portfolio in order to document and communicate progress and transfer knowledge to other engineers

What We are Looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of material science, polymer chemistry, or mechanical/industrial engineering
  • Min. 3 years’ experience in laser sintering, polymer additive manufacturing, or polymer based focus in corporate R&D preferred
  • Experience in leading production at an industrial Additive Manufacturing company
  • Experience in powder-bed Polymer Additive Manufacturing technologies strongly preferred
  • Familiar with structuring and drawing conclusions from DOE (Design of Experiments)
  • Skilled in software such as Magics, Solidworks, Matlab, as well as project tracking and MES platforms
  • Manual skill and a distinct ability to think and perceive in three dimensions
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks running simultaneously
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills
  • Willingness to occasionally travel for business purposes
  • Enjoy collaboration and shared success, while able to provide technical leadership
