The Role

The Virtual Training Specialist role is responsible for the design and development of online, instructor-led, blended learning, classroom, and supplemental training materials (i.e. user guides, videos, job aids, graphics) that are functional, engaging, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design principles. This is a full-time position within the Training Department for the Benefits Delivery & Administration segment of Willis Towers Watson.

Key Responsibilities:
Effectively master, train, and evaluate all learning objectives from Via Benefits University course curriculum

Maintain and develop learning programs using a project management approach across cross-functional teams, including needs assessment, solution development, delivery, tracking, and continuous improvement

Design, develop, and deliver a blend of training solutions for groups or individuals in a classroom or work environment using a variety of training methods, including e-learning, webinars, and instructor-led classes

Develop, update, and revise multi-media instructional materials, training materials, job aids, and resources

Conduct, review, and analyze all courses to determine effectiveness of training information, and implement material revisions when applicable

Identify learning styles to create an interactive virtual training environment with the ability to simplify complex training processes into manageable steps

Monitor participant progress, conduct evaluations, administer assessment tools, and solicit feedback to improve course content, delivery methods, and effectiveness

Manage training calendar, materials, participants, invitations, room set-up, follow-up, reporting, auditing, and all other details of the virtual training program

Mentor, develop, and coach other members of the Training Department for effectiveness of the virtual training program

Provide system administration for the learning and performance management system, including maintaining training records

Stay abreast of new trends and tools in employee development and training

As needed, assist with the development and assessment of employee training on the Learning Management System

Cultivate strong working relationships across multiple departments, including working with Subject Matter Experts to ensure training information is current and accurate

Uphold a strong client focus, maintain an emphasis on teamwork, exhibit unwavering integrity, mutual respect, and constantly strive for excellence

The Requirements

1-3 years instructional design experience

Strong public speaking and presentation skills

Excellent project management skills

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Work successfully with different personality types

Problem-solving skills

Follow and communicate the procedures and policies of the training department

Respond positively to change and the challenges and opportunities it brings

Strong understanding of adult learning theory and learning styles

Strong technical skills

Proficient in WebEx or other virtual learning platforms

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred software skills include Articulate, Adobe Suite Products, Camtasia, or other e-Learning platforms

Health Insurance background a plus

Bachelor’s degree a plus
