Direct department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals.
Plan and integrate the daily activities of multiple teams, allocating resources within defined budgets.
Coordinate the plans and activities of the organization with senior leaders inside and outside IT.
Apply technical and process expertise to address challenging technical and business issues.
Works as a key member of the technical leadership team in the development of TruCare NextGen.
Collaborates with the Business Area Owner to understand the vision and business need for the NextGen and translates those needs into technical architecture and release roadmap for the product.
Utilizes agile development practices to craft technical epics, features, and stories for in the development teams. Implement metrics to track and improve the performance of the development team.
Ensures the delivery of the product by actively removing obstacles, ensuring resources have the appropriate tools and equipment to do their job, validating stories are groomed with appropriate detail, sprints meet predefined sprint goals, and automation test and deployment scripts are developed to ensure CI/CD
Identifies, communicates, and mitigates issues or risks that threaten the release of the product.
Participates as a leader of the NextGen architecture, establishing the blueprints for NextGen and standards the development team will follow.
Is a hands on developer, when needed, using Angular, Golang, and Mongo. Understands all aspects of the code base and architecture.
Guides the team in the proper development of secure, event driven micro services using Golang and Kafka.
Develops code samples and documentation that guides the team in the development of standardized, secure, maintainable, and performant code.
Implements continuous integration and continuous deployment techniques using Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Helps engrain creativity and innovation in the development process. Mentors and develop the technical skills of the development team using creative learning techniques (code a thons, brown bags, meet-ups, online courses, experiments, etc.).
Provides feedback to administrative managers regarding the technical performance of the development team. Provides technical coaching to the team to help them grow in their craft.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience. 8+ years of diverse IT experience. Previous management experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of staff.
