Essential Job Functions
Under the direction of Director of Infrastructure and Operations, IT Architecture Manager is an experienced, hands-on technical leader responsible for creating, delivering, and managing the enterprise architecture function. This position is responsible for developing the standards, and principals that guide the design of reliable, flexible and resilient IT infrastructure that meets business unit requirements and SLAs .
IT architecture duties and responsibilities:
Defines the strategy, vision, goals and objectives of the IT architecture function.
Responsible for performing systems analysis and design, troubleshooting, planning, and technology selection, balancing the needs of IT and business requirements.
Leads the identification of the business requirements and SLA’s to be supported by the IT infrastructure.
Stays abreast of cloud, physical and virtual IT infrastructure technologies and trends, to effectively manage the IT technology portfolio.
Develops the standards and policies that drive and support the IT architecture.
Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) to other IT Operations groups as an escalation point in incident or problem management efforts.
Uses IT architecture design concepts to deliver risk adverse and cost-effective solutions.
Performs IT infrastructure audits to ensure architecture standards and policies are followed.
Coordinates with IT Operations, Security, and Development teams to ensure seamless delivery on all projects and solutions.
Evaluates risk, capabilities and cost benefits of IT architecture options and recommends solutions that provide the appropriate balance as defined by business needs/requirements.
Adheres to all group defined policies, standards, and guidelines where appropriate, in support of Engie NA business requirements and needs.
Management duties and responsibilities:
Manages IT architecture team providing mentoring, coaching, and management ensuring professionalism and high-quality architecture of IT solutions and infrastructure.
Develop, maintain and communicate IT architecture standards and policies.
Identify IT architecture and business goals to effectively manage projects.
Effective communication skills with internal and external parties, including customers and vendors.
Manages multiple stakeholders to ensure design, selection and delivery of reliable, resilient and cost-effective solutions.
Ability to influence and gain the cooperation of other parties outside span of control.
Define all activities necessary to successfully compete projects, goals and objectives.
Identify needed resources and requirements for IT architecture team.
Document concisely and clearly all activities for the IT architecture team.
Identify prime risks and limitations within project plan.
Evaluate and determine team and individual performance.
Conducts regular meetings with business, infrastructure, development and application teams to manage customer expectations and requirements
Lead and manage the work activities of direct reports and contractors.
Strategic and detail oriented with strong customer service acumen.
Translate business request into appropriate technology solution.
Ability to assess and implement IT architecture designs that meet business needs.
Experience working with leadership to prioritize company-wide system needs.
Identify emerging information systems and telecommunication system technologies and recommend strategies for enhancing the company’s infrastructure.
Strong and communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent inter-personal, supervisory and management skills, verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, project management skills, analytical skills for problem determination and resolution, and performance management skills.
Carries out other duties as assigned.
Travel to office locations as required (20%).
Strong technical knowledge, leadership, and team management experience are required with strong IT design and operations management skills.
Essential Physical Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
Could involve some lifting.
Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of directly related work experience and/or education in a similar position.
10 years’ experience in Information Systems.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT architecture.
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing Information Systems staff.
Working knowledge of virtual and physical server computing environment including Microsoft SCCM, LanDesk, Active Directory, VMware, Windows 10 administration, Office 365, OKTA, Cloud technologies, DNS, DevOps, IaaS, PaaS, Proofpoint, Zscaler, Authentication concepts, Agile, Scripting.
Working knowledge of enterprise architecture principles.
Cloud computing experience including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
