Position Description
As a Systems Administrator within the MSH/USON/Vantage Technology Operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the Windows Server, Virtual Server, and Cloud Computing environments, which encompasses over four datacenters, Public Cloud Services, and various cloud environments across the country. In addition, the members of the team provide support for other IT Services teams whose applications may reside in these computing environments. Furthermore, the team interfaces with technology vendors in-regards to product evaluation, procurement, and operational support. Finally, the team will periodically interface with business partners in-regards to general inquiries about compute, servers, virtual, and cloud based systems.

Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day Windows Server, Virtual Server, Cloud Compute operations such as server builds, server decommissioning, operations and automation, and performance troubleshooting
Recommend and implement best practices for server hardware and Windows operating system to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Work with other support Teams to troubleshoot and resolve server and operating system related issues
Perform hardware and software maintenance and monitoring
Install, configure and support new hardware/software and cloud based solutions that support the compute environment
Provides planning, strategy, and day-to-day operational services to ensure that the Microsoft SQL databases are protected against data loss, damage, and security breaches.
Design, implement, and maintain server monitoring and patching solutions and procedures
Monitor and manage server performance and capacity relative to cpu, memory, and storage utilization
Provide on-call support for server infrastructure and operating systems
Active Directory and DNS management for Vantage Oncology
Nagios Server Monitoring of Vantage Oncology computing assets
Provide technical support for the Citrix computing environment
Provide Web Server Management using Microsoft IIS technologies
Manage Web Certificates and Renewals for Vantage hosted websites
Provide load balancer support using Citrix Netscaler, AZURE load balancer, and AZURE Traffic Manager technologies
Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
Provide research, recommendations and solutions for redundancy, availability, scalability, and performance improvement.
Must be able to clearly identify, analyze and resolve root causes of production level issues to make practical suggestions with proof-based technical reasoning.
Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as required.
Identify, research, and develop Database process improvements and recommends them to management for implementation
Installation, configuration, upgrading and patching of all MSSQL instances.
Performance monitoring of all MSSQL instances to detect outages or availability issues.
Integrate with technical services, internal and external customers and vendors to design systems which meet the intended needs.
Manage and resolve performance and availability issues in alignment with established SLAs.
Establish and maintain sound backup, recovery and disaster recovery policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
Typically has 7+ years relevant experience

Critical Skills
Proficient in Windows Server and Operating Systems
Proficient in VMWare or other virtual server technologies
Proficient in MS AZURE or AWS virtual server or elastic compute services
Proficient in managing load balancing technologies which may include Citrix NetScaler, F5 Big IP, or AWS / AZURE cloud based load balancers
Basic networking and Active Directory skills including: TCP/IP protocol stack, network analysis tools DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
Proficient in system programing or scripting utilizing PowerShell, Python, Java, or other scripting languages

Additional Knowledge & Skills
Technology Certifications a plus

Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience. Bachelor degree preferred.
