Description/Job Summary

Full time regular position managing production within various host companies or community job sites while training, employing, and supervising adults with disabilities and managing ECHO's contract with the host companies. Provide coverage for ECHO drivers as needed.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Implement individual service programs including data collecting, analyzing, and reporting
Relate information about significant program participant activity to Program Coordinator and/or Director of Program Services, as appropriate
Provide supervision to program participants to ensure health and safety as dictated by their individual service plans and/or per the direction of ECHO management
Complete notes and payroll entries for participants daily
Schedule and transport program participants to and from work sites, using ECHO vehicles
Maintain necessary production and payroll records
Perform time studies to assure correct remuneration of workers
Manage program participant hours for greatest productivity and coverage
Assure program participant integration into the host company's work force
Perform routine maintenance and make minor repairs on equipment
Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies and request from ECHO and/or host company an adequate level of supplies in a timely manner
Plan for integrated "down time" activities, such as off-site community outreach activities
Participate in necessary training to satisfy agency needs
Assist Marketing Manager in contract negotiations as requested and serve as on-site liaison with contracting company
In the event of a production emergency, complete production without program participant assistance within time lines mandated
Required to provide driver coverage from 630am to 630pm Monday through Friday
Pick up program participants at their homes/specified locations, take them to their worksite, service provider and/or intermediate transportation rendezvous locations and return them to the specified location

Assist persons with disabilities from/to their residence and on an off the vehicle as necessary to assure the riders safety

Adjust/secure seatbelts and wheelchair tie down devices for a stable and safe ride

Position vehicle and operate wheelchair lift in an appropriate and safe manner

Report absent riders daily

Using required reporting forms, complete daily vehicle control information forms including, but not limited to, rider attendance, vehicle safety checks, fuel, or memos for vehicle repair

Report program participant incidents, accidents, seizures, illnesses, and behavior issues to proper authority in a timely manner

Report any personal traffic violations or collisions (whether on or off the job)

Refrain from the use of any intoxicating drug

Perform additional related duties as assigned


Considerable knowledge of developmental disabilities

Clean driving record
Through knowledge of typical business practices

Proven ability to be flexible in organizing, scheduling, and working to meet the needs of the individuals receiving services

Ability to interpret and implement contract specifications and maintain quality control

Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, email and internet use, and ability to learn ECHO-specific programs

Considerable knowledge of specific training techniques including task analysis, behavioral objectives, and supported employment guidelines

Proven ability to support persons with challenging behaviors and intensive training needs

Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, their families, co-workers, management, and staff

Proven driving skills and ability to operate multi-passenger vehicles and mechanized work equipment

Effective oral and written communication skillsincluding ability to record and analyze data, write reports, maintain files, and process paperwork

Proven knowledge of training techniques, behavioral intervention, individual service plans, and supported employment guidelines

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises a varying number of program participants depending on site location.

Work Environment

This job operates in various sites through the community and in ECHO's day support areas that resemble general living spaces (living room, kitchen)

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to push a wheel chair with rider, lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, drive a vehicle, and support persons with challenging behaviors, which can be physical.

Position Type

This is a full-time position, generally Monday - Friday

Hours may vary between 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. **Schedule flexibility is essential. - 8 hour days


Most DSP positions require driving participants to and from their work site, and may also require substitute driving a full route for an absent bus driver. Getting fingerprints done and taking a drug and alcohol test off-site at hire is required. Additionally, random drug tests could potentially require a repeat off-site drug test one or more times throughout length of employment.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Social Services, Human Services, or related field or equivalent experience

Salary range $17.00 - $18.50 per hour - excellent benefits!
