GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carrier is the world’s leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions. Environmental regulations continue to drive innovation in residential HVAC product development. Portions of California have implemented a new NOx emission regulation for residential gas furnaces. Carrier has project to develop gas furnaces that are compliant with this regulation and maintain its industry leadership for innovative HVAC products.

The candidate will have responsibility for the following in addition to adhoc assignments as needed.

The summer intern position for the Carrier gas heating platform will directly support the Ultra-Low NOx furnace project by assisting the engineering team to develop and apply new furnace technology to achieve new emissions requirements. The role will also involve monitoring of testing in the laboratory, collection of data, analysis of data, and exposure to basic project management.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Ability to work with minimal supervision to achieve project goals and objectives

TYPICAL EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mechanical Engineering Major who has completed sophomore or junior year with a 3.0 minimum GPA

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Student with an interest in heat transfer, emissions, and FEA/CFD modeling

Self-starter with high level of initiative

Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word)

Good written and verbal communication skills
