We are currently searching for a Director of Marketing and Advertising. This position is dedicated to building the Spinx brand through advertising, loyalty marketing, digital marketing, and public relations strategies in a way that develops Spinx’s unique brand positioning and achieves the Company’s purpose of “Making Life Easier.” This position is responsible for bringing together all marketing and PR initiatives into a cohesive plan to ensure messages and offers complement each another. This individual directs the efforts of the Marketing team and works with the Merchandising, Foodservice and Car Wash teams to create and evaluate advertising and loyalty marketing programs, ensuring they are aligned with the Spinx brand. This position provides strategic direction for the loyalty program, including the platform, program vendors, mobile app and user experience. This position oversees public relations activities, including media relations, special events and corporate sponsorships
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Develops and oversees strategic advertising and public relations plans and monitors progress and effectiveness of all campaigns and efforts.
Stewards the Spinx brand by ensuring Spinx and vendor marketing programs are consistent with brand positioning and guidelines across all marketing channels (radio, TV, billboards, signage, digital, etc.).
Develops annual plan and marketing calendar to coordinate campaigns, events and messaging.
Works with Merchandising & Foodservice Teams to develop promotional strategies to support monthly specials, combos, club membership, new offerings, etc.
Monitors Spinx Xtras loyalty program and reports on bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly KPIs.
Plans, executes and assesses yearly Advertising, PR/Sponsorship budget.
Works closely with all departments to manage brand standards and performs regular inspections of store signage to ensure that corporate brand guidelines are being maintained.
Oversees plans for special events and public relations events, including store grand openings, Spinx RunFest and Annual Spinx Charity Golf Classic.
Oversees the development and upgrade opportunities for the Mobile App.
Oversees brand marketing research and maintains knowledge of primary competitors’ marketing campaigns.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration is required and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in retail is strongly preferred. Strong background in marketing, advertising, branding, digital marketing and loyalty programs. Strong track record of brand development and an extensive background in marketing/advertising. Proven experience managing and motivating a team, and the ability to build positive relationships. Ability to take initiative and solve problems. Experience in convenience store, restaurant or retail industry a plus.
