We are seeking an Clinical Quality Specialist RN to review and code for our Home Health & Hospice division.

Responsibilities
Performs quarterly record review audits for home health, hospice, and private duty service lines per LHN policy, Joint Commission standards, and State and CMS regulations.
Conducts thorough reviews of all available documentation to ensure accuracy of ICD-10 coding, OASIS and HIS data, and overall documentation quality.
Assists with coding all hospice cases
Reviews all home health discharges
Reviews home health Start of Care summaries that appear on the 485.
Ensures timely and accurate review of comprehensive assessments and all related documentation completed at Start of Care (SOC), Post Hospitalization/Resumption of Care (ROC), and Recertification/Follow-up including OASIS data and ICD-10 Coding.
Consults directly with clinical staff regarding integrity check findings as needed to ensure appropriate, accurate, and timely documentation.
Maintains ongoing communication with QAPI Manager, and clinical leaders regarding issues that arise during review processes.
Adheres to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within the company’s Policies and Procedures at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.
Maintains compliance with the company’s policies, procedures and mission statement.
Identifies issues in documentation and reports to Quality Manager
Assists other team members when necessary.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Illinois
At least 2 years of home health nursing experience
Strong and recent working knowledge of OASIS and HIS data sets
Working knowledge of Home Health and Hospice Joint Commission, Illinois, and Federal standards and regulations
At least one year experience performing ICD-10 coding for home health and hospice
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and meet deadlines
Computer literate; especially Microsoft Word and Excel
ICD-Coding Certified coder
Oasis certified

Physical Requirements:
Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements including adequate manual dexterity.
Some unassisted lifting, pushing, and pulling may be required during normal work.
Employees are required to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to multi-task and deal effectively in stressful situations.
Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.
