Organization Overview: Transcription is a universal biological process and a prime target for therapeutics against pathogens. The Campbell lab operates at the interface between biochemistry, structural biology, and microbial pathogenesis. They focus on the regulation of gene expression and RNA synthesis in two deadly pathogens, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and coronaviruses, to illuminate fundamental mechanisms and contribute to drug development. The Research Assistant will execute scientific experiments under the guidance of senior scientists as well as help maintain laboratory functions such as making general solutions or calibrating equipment. This position will be working with a joint lab on transcription in bacteria and CoV.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor's degree

A commitment of two years

Must be adept at using general lab equipment such as centrifuges, pH meters, pipettes, gel electrophoresis

Skills in basic chemistry and microbiology lab techniques

Cloning experience

Experience in over expressing and purifying proteins is preferred
