Senior Accountant – General Ledger
Full time, Office Based, Durham NC.
As a Senior GL Accountant, you will be responsible for assigned GL accounts, period-end financial closing including journal entries and key account reconciliations. The Accountant will ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and assist with testing key controls and maintaining process narratives, assist on assigned accounting matters for the business, and interface with various members of management to ensure transactions are reported in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Additionally, this role will be required to prepare and provide information to our internal and external auditors as requested. Applicant should be ready to work cross-functionally, both within the Finance department and with others in the organization.

What you’ll be doing
Responsible for certain general ledger activities to ensure a timely close each period-end with effective financial internal controls. This will include preparing the necessary journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
Responsible for ensuring key account reconciliations are performed & reviewed.
Apply sound knowledge of US GAAP in determining the appropriate accounting treatment for transactions.
Support annual internal and external audits
Assist in reporting/presentations of financial results as assigned.
Understand and demonstrate a high level of process and controls awareness. This includes maintaining the integrity of the internal control environment and being proactive in identifying areas for improvement.

What you’ll bring to the table
- B.S. or B. A. in Accounting. CPA preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
SAP experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and GAAP
Minimum of 3 years of financial accounting experience or public accounting experience
