For Semester/Term: Spring 2018 Hiring Department: Early Childhood Education Lab Location: Charleston What We Do: The ECE Lab Program is an accredited early childhood education program providing high quality preschool and child care for children of students, faculty, and the general public ages 2 - 5 years of age. Job Description: This position will assist ECE Lab Program personnel with the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum for children 24 months-five years of age. Under supervision, the student will work with children individually or in small groups on pre-academic and academic skills such as reading, literacy, math and other appropriate preschool content, and will assist the classroom teacher or program supervisor with other duties as assigned. This job directly support students pursuing degrees in Education or Early Childhood Education Our Services Benefit: CSN Students and Staff The Community outside CSN Work Experience in our Department supports the following Degree/Certificate Programs: Early Childhood Education, Education, Nursing, Dental, EMT Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required- Interact with children without using physical punishment or any form of psychological abuse. Required- Recognize health and safety hazards and protect children from harm. Preferred -Encourage and provide children with a variety of opportunities for learning and social experiences. Required -Positively communicate with children, staff and families. Wages under this position are paid from Work Study funds administered by the CSN Financial Aid Department. To maintain eligibility, students must Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year. Show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired. Be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.
