This is a 6 months internship.

The Packaging Internship offers candidates the opportunity to work with a high-energy cross functional R&D team. Candidates will gain experience with blow molded bottles, injection molded parts, cartons, corrugate, and multiple labeling technologies. Packaging interns should expect a broad experience with a mix of activities designed to help an intern identify his or her niche in the packaging industry and benefit Henkel with meaningful and important work.

Henkel offers R&D internships in a variety of disciplines with the total number of interns depending on the time of year. Our interns work closely with mentors to make sure that the internship experience supports an intern's educational goals as well as the needs of the business.

What we offer

Support Package Engineers with the development of new primary and secondary packaging.
Benchmark packaging components and packaging processes to identify cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Assist with the development of Customer promotional offerings including Warehouse Club and promotional SKUs.
Create and revise packaging specifications, bill of materials and pallet patterns to support manufacturing.
Understand and support in-house product manufacturing processes.
Understand and support basic supplier manufacturing processes including plastic molding, flexible materials and secondary carton / corrugate.
Investigate and report on new packaging materials and technologies that could drive the business.
Participate in the packaging of sales samples or consumer test products in the pilot plant.
Develop test methods and evaluate all components to ensure compatibility, efficacy, and quality with packaging systems.
Assist in testing of packaging components.
Assist in reporting cost saving initiatives for packaging related projects.
