Develops and executes strategic plan and expansion of department by organizing department goals; discovers ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures to maximize department reach and impact; identifies and executes department presentations internally and externally for recruitment, partnership, and/or knowledge sharing; identifies, monitors, and directs department expansion efforts with new internal and external partnerships; leads all marketing and media execution for the department; develops and allocates annual budget for department; researches, identifies, and executes proposal and grant writing, award distribution, and workshop development; discovers ways to enhance efficiency to be fiscally responsible and compliant; monitors dining services partnership and budget for healthy snacks for weekly programming; provides direct supervision to Community Relations Coordinator of day to day operations with students, community partners, and recruitment through feedback, input, and direction; Field Task Instructor for BSSW students; develops training materials, topics, and ideas for professional development opportunities for staff, student staff, and volunteers; oversees PACT and HSA partnership with Columbus City Schools; attends community partner trainings; supports Community Relations Coordinator with strengthening and maintaining existing partnerships; reviews and approves community partnership contracts; identifies and evaluates the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks; ensures program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the university and Student Life; leads assessment and data collection and analytics in department for program impact on students, community recruitment, and employment experience in collaboration with SL assessment and SL HR; chairs partnership with Kirwan Institute to provide assistance in research collection for Civic Engagement; leads Teaching and Course partnership with College of Education and Service-Learning; supervises the coordination and recruitment for leadership courses, capstone experience, and site placement with Social Change; leads donor engagement and sponsorships with Assistant Director; identifies ways to enhance donor engagement for department; serves on special project committees on behalf of Student Life initiatives; develops and executes international affairs partnership with Washington Mandela Fellows (summer term); Chairs department events: Welcome Back celebration, 3-5 Rec Center Halloween Parties, 4-6 Women’s Month Events, Restored Citizen Summit, Day in Life, Poverty Simulation, and any community events; other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Community Development, Humanities, or equivalent combination of education/experience; three years in sustained civic engagement, social justice, student and leadership development; experience working with juvenile detention centers or the prison system; two years of supervisory experience of full-time staff; experience supervising student employees and volunteer management; experience with grant writing and strategic plan execution; experience in program assessment and evaluation.
