We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst in our Financial Planning & Analysis function to enhance our ability to support our stakeholders and drive value. You must be capable of working in a high-growth environment, with a dynamic accounting/finance team. This newly created position will work with the Managing Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in analyzing Heartland’s financial and operational results. This will include budgeting, forecasting, evaluating performance/trends of the business, identifying/exploring areas of opportunity, and other special projects.
Heartland Dental, LLC, based in Effingham, Illinois, is the largest dental support organization in the United States with more than 1,500 supported dentists in 850 offices and 35 states. It offers supported dentists and team members continuing professional education, leadership development, and a variety of administrative support services including staffing, payroll management, human resources, accounting, marketing, information technology and procurement.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
Partner with members of the finance team and other functions to gain an understanding of Heartland’s business model
Develop highly visible reports & analysis, including items for monthly management reporting, board of director materials, etc
Playing a key role in budgeting, forecasting and other financial modeling activities
Collaborate with members of the executive team and other operational teams to provide analysis and solutions that will drive improvement in the performance of the business
Gathering, organizing and maintaining large data sets contained in databases/other analytical tools
Become skilled with various financial/analytical tools and help drive their continued implementation
Participate in other special projects
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
3-5 years of previous experience in a finance department
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify insights that lead organization to better understanding of opportunities or risks
Skilled at synthesizing large volumes of data and understanding value drivers/areas of opportunity
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Commitment to take ownership of a project and see it through from inception to completion
Ability to translate knowledge of accounting principles and investment terminology into creating financial models and analysis
Able to work cross-functionally and manage/prioritize multiple tasks on tight deadlines
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including confidence and presence to engage effectively with senior executives.
Experience working with ERP systems such as accounting systems, budgeting/planning platforms (i.e. Anaplan, Adaptive, Hyperion, etc), business intelligence tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, etc) or other databases
MBA is a plus
