The purpose of this position is to oversee the day-to-day business operations of the Assisted Housing Choice Voucher Program at the district level through the supervision and coordination of staff. The position will be responsible for providing district operation information to the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director and the Director of Assisted Housing in the form of various projects reports and updates on an as needed basis. Work involves monitoring the leasing of Housing Choice Vouchers in compliance with established budget authority, and interacts with participants and landlords to determine continued program eligibility in accordance with the Authority guidelines. Employee will exercise tact and courtesy in contacts with applicants, residents and associated outside agencies. This position requires an Associate’s Degree (minimum) & 4 or more years of experience in a management role in a business or housing environment (Bachelor Degree preferred). Special Requirements: Applicant maybe required to utilize an agency vehicle, must possess a current in state driver’s license in good standing with a good driving record. However, an applicant with a valid out of state driver’s license is a current military dependent or resides outside the state (Ms.) will not be required to have an in state driver’s license. Applicant must maintain their current out of state driver’s license in good standing. Must be eligible for coverage under Mississippi Regional Housing Authority VIII fleet auto insurance (i.e. acceptable driving record/ no DUI’s in the last 4 years). Applicant must possess computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
