DIESEL MECHANIC LEAD TECHNICIAN - DALLAS, TX
This position will be 70% hands-on mechanic work and 30% shop lead/administration work.
Assigns the work to mechanics.
Communicate operating information and concerns to lead personnel on other shifts and in other departments.
Monitor/maintain the parts room, work orders, performance, and employee overtime to stay within company and management guidelines.
Responsible to continually improve productivity and quality.
Coordinate and conduct breaks, lunches, team meetings, and employee training.
Encourage and cultivate cooperation and teamwork.
Participate in team meetings to evaluate and investigate process improvement opportunities which may impact team performance.
Encourage and enforce all company safety policies.
Ensure labor coverage for shop in event of vacations and other team member absences.
Maintain the shop and complete required tasks with the absolute minimum amount of indirect time possible.
Follow the PO Process to insure financial accountability.
Strong team communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong training and team facilitation skills.
Demonstrated leadership qualities (can do credo and lead by example).
Strong math, writing, computer, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Familiarity with all Dillon Fleet Maintenance standard operating procedures, including scheduling process.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
